Paul is the Founder and President of JPF Consulting, a firm that primarily specializes in connecting real estate developers, public sector entities and multi-national organizations with technologies that help them reduce their carbon footprint, be more energy efficient and explore new building technologies. They also collaborate with different clients on strategies around decarbonization and supply chain management.
Prior to starting JPF Consulting, Paul was working in the Canadian geothermal heating and cooling industry for over 10 years with roles as Director of Advocacy & Sales and working in the energy asset acquisition space. Paul also carried the title of Government Relations with the Ontario Geothermal Association where he worked with all levels of government helping them better understand the technology and helping to shape policy at all levels to facilitate uptake of geothermal, as it drastically reduces carbon emissions. Paul is immensely proud of the work he did in working with the former Minister of Environment and Climate Change Glen Murray and his involvement in helping the Green On agency deliver carbon saving programs to the people of Ontario while the Liberal administration was in power. Paul was recently named President of the Ontario Geothermal Association.
Paul has been working in a business development and sales capacity for over 20 years, working in many sectors, some of which were the stationary power industry, lighting industry, renewables, and the textile industry. Paul has worked with more clients and companies than he could possibly remember, but his one simple rule of thumb is he treats everyone the way he would want to be treated. One of his key goals is to learn something new every day and goes out of his way to make sure that happens.
Paul is best known for his network. Aside from his over 2000 connections on LinkedIn, Paul is actively involved in many networking events and nonprofit organizations. Paul Co-Chairs Green Drinks Toronto, which is a monthly networking event bringing 150 to 400 people from the renewable/sustainability worlds together to mingle and have a drink. Paul is also a big supporter of the younger generation and mentors in the University of Toronto’s Sustainable Engineering Association mentoring program and has been supporting the Schulich School of Business on different initiatives.
In his spare time Paul is an avid golfer and baseball player. He enjoys time by the pool and spending time with his 8-year-old daughter and his family.
