Alberta and other stranded oil assets: French energy giant Total has announced a stranded Alberta tar sands asset writedown of $9.3 billion. Also Deutsche Bank will pull out of Alberta projects. Earlier, Shell and BP took writedowns of $22 billion and $17.5 billion.
